/ About the project

The exhibition aims to capitalize on the results of scientific research and to value natural dyes as a resource in contemporary art, to create a connection between contemporary and traditional textiles through dyes, and to capitalize on the results of interdisciplinary research by making information available to the general public.

We created a beautiful immersive exhibition space with eye-catching graphics and labels.

For the visitor journey, we envisioned the space split into two distinct parts. The first part of the exhibition is dedicated to showcasing scientific research. Inspired by the aesthetics of museum labs, we opted for an all-white theme that evokes a sense of precision and exploration. We included miscellaneous lab items to highlight the experimental aspect of the research and designed the graphics to resemble scientific papers, providing a structured and informative experience. One of the key features of this section is the wool wall—to emphasize the scientific approach, we created custom furniture that complements the organized and methodical atmosphere.

The second part of the exhibition takes visitors on a journey into a more abstract, artistic experience. Here, we used a transition from the all-white environment to an all-black space, creating a strong visual contrast. Through careful lighting and thoughtful placement, we aimed to highlight the contemporary works of art, giving them a futuristic and immersive feel. The interplay of shadows and light against the dark backdrop adds depth, creating a dynamic and engaging atmosphere that draws attention to the intricate details of the textile objects on display.

This transition from scientific exploration to artistic wonder allows visitors to connect with the exhibition's dual focus: understanding natural dyes as both a subject of rigorous research and a source of creativity in contemporary art. Our goal was to create an inspiring experience where visitors can appreciate the connection between tradition and modernity, while valuing the interdisciplinary research behind these textiles.
